Isaiah 60:1-3 – Arise, shine for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The gentiles shall come to your light, and the kings to the brightness of your rising.
In this portion of Scripture:
- We are called to arise and shine for our light has come. When we are in Christ we become light and we are called to show forth our light (upholding ethics, values and clean living). This light that we shine forth is the glory of the Lord. We are not in it alone.
- It is recognized that the earth that we live in is covered by darkness (moral decay). The people of the earth are covered by moral decay all around us – corruption, murder, deceit and lies, adultery, theft, witchcraft, hatred etc.
- Yet in all this, we who are in the world can be set apart and not be touched by this darkness. Why? Because the Lord promises to arise over us and show His glory upon us.

When we live such a life, then the unbelievers will be drawn to our light. And the kings of the earth to the brightness of our rising!

So as we arise, we shine brightly and all will clearly see our light – and be drawn to it!
Our goal is to form local communities of signatories all over the world. The forming of communities is our goal, because community relationships are the heart of transformation.
